Foster Care and Adoption Resource Fair
June 3 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
A partnership between the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and The Center for Strategic Public-Private Partnerships is bringing the Foster Care and Adoption Resource Fair to South Los Angeles on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The fair is being held to assist those who wish to become resource families by opening their homes to children in need of foster or adoptive parents, of which there are hundreds at any given time in South Los Angeles.
Intended to accelerate the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process, the fair will take place from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and the one-day convening will include several useful resources such as; an informational session detailing the necessary requirements to become a foster or adoptive parent, an orientation and opportunity to submit an application, as well as offer Livescan and health screenings. Refreshments will be provided and childcare available for children 4 and up and potential resource families will be able to meet committed foster parents and social workers.
Additionally, to ensure that participants continue receiving support, prospective resource families will be assisted with planning for other essential requirements that will not be addressed that day, including home study, house inspections, etc.
The Foster Care and Adoption Resource Fair will be held at Center for Hope located at 9550 Crenshaw Boulevard, Inglewood, CA 90305. To RSVP, call (888) 811-1121.
