“The County of Orange (County) Social Services Agency (SSA), Children and Family Services Division will be seeking program statements from for-profit organizations, private nonprofit organizations, public educational institutions, or municipalities with experience in providing a Drop-In Center facility that would include offering services and support to victims of sexual exploitation, potential victims and their family members. Organizations with similar types of experience may also submit a program statement. The Drop-In Center will provide services and programs for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) or youth at risk of becoming victims. A commercially sexually exploited or sexually trafficked child is one who receives food or shelter in exchange for, or is paid to, perform sexual acts. The Drop-In Center would provide comprehensive services to work with the unique and various challenges associated with the CSEC population. The center will provide an emergency place for youth waiting to return to their families or those waiting for placement, as well as a place for youth to receive supportive services, and participate in programs offering stabilization and treatment. Services that would ideally be provided would include; Basic Needs, Support Services, Life Skills Training, and Community Outreach and Education.
