The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) is accepting applications for the provision of Juvenile Review Board Support and Enhancements. The goal of the program will be to effectively impact outcomes for youth served by Juvenile Review Boards. The Support and Enhancements program will provide funding to enhance Juvenile Review Board services; better assist families to access services not available in the community (e.g. positive youth development, tutoring and transportation), increase Juvenile Review Board capacity and success rates.
The contractor will utilize awarded funding to provide support and enhancement services to the Juvenile Review Board and youth and families that the Juvenile Review Boards serve. Specifically the contractor will provide:
- Case management hours for the Juvenile Review Board to increase capacity and success rates, by either helping to offset the cost for a Juvenile Review Board or increase the hours devoted to JRB duties by existing staff.
- Memberships or scholarships for structured pro social activities that foster positive youth development such as clubs, leagues or gyms. The activities should not be a one time event but rather an ongoing activity that provides structure and opportunity for social skills building.
- Direct service funding for transportation, youth employment services, academic and emotional support.
