“2.1 PURPOSE:
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts is seeking firm to provide tutoring for approximately four hundred (400) students during the Summer Camp and homework assistance/project based learning projects for approximately seventy five (75) students at Kay Gaither and an additional forty (40) students at McNicol in Kindergarten through fifth (5th) grade at school Aftercare. The maximum amount of grant funding provided to the City of Hollywood for the tutoring program is $97,000.00.
2.2 PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE:
A Pre-Proposal Conference for all firms interested in submitting a proposal will be held on July 12, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Administrative Office located at 1405 South 28th Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33020 to answer questions about the RFP. The Pre-Proposal Conference is not mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged that you attend.
2.3 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proposals will be considered only from firms that have been engaged in providing similar services as specified herein for a period of not less than three (3) years continuously, and who are presently engaged in providing these products.
2.4 CONTRACT TERM:
The term of this bid shall be for an initial three (3) year period from the date of award and may, by mutual agreement between the City of Hollywood and the awarded Contractor(s) be renewed for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
2.5 SCOPE OF SERVICES:
The awarded firm shall provide qualified and certified teachers to tutor and assist students as specified herein. Services will be available after school (Aftercare) during the school year, Monday through Thursday only, for approximately two (2) hours per day. Services will also be available during regularly scheduled school year summer break, Monday through Thursday for approximately three (3) hours per day in accordance with the Broward County Public Schools annual school calendar (Attachment A). Teachers will be allotted an additional one (1) hour per day during the summer programs to plan and prepare project based learning curriculum.”
