“K.F.K. Foundation, Inc. (d/b/a Kelly for Kids Foundation) is a not-for-profit foundation committed to helping organizations who assist children in the Western New York area.
The Kelly for Kids Foundation was established in 1987 by former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Jim Kelly. It was his inspiration and hope the Foundation would improve the quality of life for disabled and disadvantaged youth in Western, NY. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over 5 million dollars. Community Grants The Community Grants Committee will review proposals and will choose the 2017 recipients toward the end of December.
COMMUNITY GRANT FUNDING GUIDELINES
The Kelly for Kids Foundation Community Grants are awarded to charitable not-for-profit 501(C)(3) organizations whose primary mission is to assist children in need in the Western New York area. In particular it funds health and social service organizations that serve the disabled and/or economically disadvantaged youth. By way of clarification, a not-for-profit corporation’s status as a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code is granted by the IRS, which issues a letter evidencing its approval of that organization’s charitable status. This letter acts as that organization’s certification that it is a duly qualified charitable tax-exempt organization under IRC 501 (c) (3).
Kelly for Kids Foundation’s areas of focus:
1. Innovative programs that directly assist Western New York children in need.
2. Equipment and physical improvements for organizations dedicated to programs for disadvantaged children and teens.
3. The Foundation gives priority to organizations that can demonstrate definitively how the funds will be used.”
