As part of a series of public service announcements intended to encourage foster youth to sign up for the Affordable Care Act, California Youth Connection (CYC) released a video focused specifically on mental health.
CYC is a 25-year-old foster youth-led advocacy organization. The video, the fourth in the series thus far, focuses on a CYC member named Megan, who decided her freshman year of college to see a counselor for anxiety and depression. She was able to see the counselor through the college. However, after graduating, Megan lost access to those counseling services.
After signing up for the Affordable Care Act, Megan found out she was able to go back to her counselor and receive support.
