This practice guide provides a crash course on working with noncitizen youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The report demonstrates how noncitizen youth are unfairly treated based on their immigration status and gives a broad overview of the key concepts, procedures and laws regarding noncitizen youth as they apply to the juvenile justice system. The report promotes reform, equitable treatment and the minimization of unnecessary detention and harm.
