Every Kid Needs a Family

KIDS COUNT is a project started by the Annie E. Casey Foundation that studies children’s well-being across the country. This report encourages state officials, other lawmakers and advocates to help children in the child welfare system to live in families.

The report looks in-depth at:

  • Current statistics regarding children in out-of-placement homes
  • The benefits of placing children in families
  • Recommendations on ensuring children in the welfare system are in family settings
