Note: All grantees listed are based in New York City unless otherwise indicated.

Children’s Health Fund, $500,000 to provide operational funds for mobile units, providing medical care to children and adults in the New York tri-state area who are coping with the after-effects of hurricane Sandy. This grant will allow them to stock their mobile units with medical personnel and supplies.

Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Hillside, $200,000 to provide food/groceries and advocacy services to individuals and families who have been affected by hurricane Sandy. The grant will allow for two additional staff members to help families learn about the potential benefits to which they may be entitled.

CUNY (City University of New York), $300,000 to provide students affected by Hurricane Sandy with cash assistance to pay their bills in order to keep them on track academically.

East Harlem Tutorial Program, $25,000 to replenish the funds the recipient expended providing services to the community in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy.  Services included providing food, shelter and children’s programs to neighbors in need.

Marks Jewish Community House, Brooklyn, $25,000 to provide practical support including bridge loans to families until FEMA and insurance claims come through. Funds will also be used for replacement cribs and bedding, portable heaters for families and gift cards for other essential items.
