The Conrad Hilton Foundation awarded 2 major grants earlier this year addressing foster care youth, following their quarterly board meeting.

Georgetown University’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform, received $640,000 over two years. The grant is designed to address the unique needs of “crossover youth,” children and youth who are known to both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems in Los Angeles County and New York City.

The University of California, Santa Barbara, received $530,000 towards a fund to provide long-term support for the UCSB Guardian Scholars program. The Guardian Scholars program provides support, enrichment services, student advocacy, career guidance, peer networking, housing assistance, and financial aid advising to students enrolled at UCSB who have been apart of the foster care system.
