Following Grant announced:  November19, 2012

University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health,  Ca., $2.75 million for general operating costs to  implement a pilot initiative, Best Babies Zone (BBZ). The holistic program will be implemented in 4 major cities, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, New Orleans and Oakland, Calif. and address improving birth outcomes for infants and addressing health disparities.

Grant Start Date: 12/1/12

Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa., $150,000 to address the growing national “racial generation gap” by applying an intergenerational and multicultural lens to strategies that improve the quality of early care and education for vulnerable children.
