This study looks at how the legal system already has preconceived notions on specific ethnic backgrounds and age differences. 1,393 adolescents were interviewed about how the legal system was treating them in various aspects.
The study found that African Americans reported experiencing more “anticipatory injustice” – preconceived notions by people in law enforcement and the legal system that could lead to unfair treatment and discrimination – as they age.
