Plans for New Staff at Alliance for Strong Families and Communities

The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, an organization representing hundreds of nonprofit human services providers, announced two big developments at its national conference in October. It changed its name (from the Alliance for Children and Families), and moved its headquarters from Milwaukee to its policy shop in Washington, D.C.

Marlo Nash to Lead New National Foster Youth Institute

Marlo Nash, who led external relations for the Milwaukee-based Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, is leaving the organization in January to become executive director of a start-up organization aimed at connecting policy makers with foster youth and families.

    Public Allies Veteran to Lead New Center on Neighborhood-Building

    The Milwaukee-based Alliance for Children and Families has tapped former Public Allies Vice President David McKinney to lead its new Center for Engagement and Neighborhood Building, which was established this year after the merger between the Alliance and the United Neighborhood Centers of America (UNCA).
