Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Seeks New Executive Director

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) has begun the search for a new executive director according to an announcement last week. The nonprofit institute has been under the leadership of interim executive director Bethany Haley since the organization’s long-time executive director Becky Weichhand died of cancer in late 2018.

Adoption Advocacy Group Hosts Fundraising Run in Honor of Becky Weichhand

Becky Weichhand passed away last year, and the adoption advocacy organization she led is planning an annual event to honor her legacy in the field. On June 23, the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) will host its first 5K race in honor of Weichhand at 7:30 a.m.

Becky Weichhand, executive director of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), has passed away at the age of 36 after a battle with cancer. “We have lost our vibrant leader and dear friend,” CCAI said, in a statement issued today.
