Foster care is an imperfect system, often criticized for its failures, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and poverty and racial bias, leading to the harmful and unnecessary removal of children from their homes, disproportionately from homes of poor families of color.

Casey Foundation’s JDAI Inter-Site conference in Phoenix; second was the National Partnership for Juvenile Services (NPJS) National Symposium in Pittsburgh.

Listenbee, Office of Juvenile Justice, Grounded by Sequestration

The leader of the federal juvenile justice agency has curbed plans to attend and speak at events outside the nation’s capital, The Imprint has learned. Robert Listenbee, the administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Administrator, was scheduled to deliver a keynote address to attendees of a major conference sponsored by the Annie E.
