A longstanding New York City institution that serves more than 17,000 children and families announced it will shut its doors later this month.

Following concerns about its child protection and foster care services, local lawmakers in St. Lawrence County, New York, are bringing in an independent firm to conduct a comprehensive review.

Alliance-COA, an organization that accredits and strengthen organizations in the social sector, has announced a set of critical new hires.

Upbring is a social services agency based in Texas whose mission is to empower communities to improve long-term outcomes for the state’s children. To this end, the agency has committed to funding research for a series of white papers from various research teams, a few of which we have posted in the past (see here, here, here and here).

This qualitative synthesis describes the successful coping strategies and service needs of children exposed to family violence. It uses the evidence-based meta-synthesis approach and analyzed social services abstracts, academic search premiere, PubMed, and Google scholar database searches.

Youth Services Insider expects to see a solicitation for about $350 million from the Department of Health and Human Services for providers that can handle an array of services for unaccompanied immigrant youth.

First 5 Alameda County and the Alameda County Public Health Department launched “Fathers Corps,” a county-wide team of male service providers who will be trained over the coming year to strengthen families by helping dads engage in the care and upbringing of their children.
