Annie E. Casey Foundation Expanding Youth Development Training for Juvenile Justice Management

In the past two years, the Baltimore-based Annie E. Casey Foundation piloted a curriculum aimed at training frontline and mid-level juvenile justice managers on youth development, a strategy focused on building the assets of youth and families (as opposed to just seeking to address deficits).

by Ken Berrick According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of social workers is expected to increase nearly 20 percent by 2022. While much of this demand will be for geriatric social workers to meet the needs of aging baby boomers, new child and family social workers are urgently needed to address the effects of child poverty, family homelessness, parental addiction, and child abuse and neglect.

Bundy to Lead Children’s Home Society of America

The Chicago-based Children’s Home Society of America has hired David Bundy to lead the 131-year-old organization, which provides child welfare and family services in 19 states. Bundy led CHS’ Florida operation from 2000 until this year, and has served in some capacity at CHS since 1988.
