Christen Glickman, the former government relations director for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), is in as federal policy manager for Youth Villages, a Tennessee-based national provider of residential and community-based services for children and families.
Glickman will lead a D.C. policy shop that is focused on advocating for performance-based standards, and increased resources for family preservation and reunification within the child welfare continuum.
Glickman’s tenure in D.C. dates back to her 2007 fellowship with the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law. Before her time at CCAI, she was a staff attorney at the National District Attorneys Association, and before that served as a legislative aide to former Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.).
Youth Villages operates most of its programs around the country on two models: YVIntercept, which offers intensive home services, and YVLifeSet, a model aimed at helping older youth transition to adulthood. The organization recently began an ambitious venture from Blue Meridian Partners to nationally scale YVLifeSet with an initial four-year, $36 million investment that could get up to $200 million over ten years.
Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly described the Blue Meridian Partners investment as $250 million. It could reach $200 million.
